Random act of Silliness

Just a fun tidbit. Chris and the girls had cooked a delish supper and we were all sitting around after eating wondering what should we do for desert. I thought I wish I had a flan - That is when Rae discovered on the computer that El Chico had flan as one of their deserts. So we all went to El Chico --- for desert. They were wonderful. I love having two gorgeous young ladies with me when I go to restaurants. I always get much better service from the waiters.

Another fun filled week

Rae reminded me that I forgot to blog yesterday - it has been a wild week for sure. Let me get you all caught up.

Saturday the girls helped out at VBS and Chris was getting four-wall-itis so I took him to Remember When and then Gainesville just to get him out of the house for a bit. Well he did okay we even stopped and had Mexican food on the way back. He was so tired when we got home though that he needed a nap. LOL

Sunday - Girls went to finish VBS at church Chris and I just hung around the house. I was fighting a headache so I decided to stay at home with Chris. I think it had to do with that I didn't want to go back to work.

Monday was my first day back at work. I was not sure what to expect or how to react to anything. We did the family thing after work going to Hobby Lobby to get adhesive since my lss is closed on Mondays. Chris and the girls went to books a million and stocked up on reading material.

Tuesday Chris had PT and the girls made a mad dash to Music and Arts to order Caedee's audition music. There was no TOW that night so we just pretty much vegged afterward. Chris was hurting pretty bad but excited he had made it up onto the bike and did a whole rotation before he nearly fell off. He also was promoted from Walker to cane. woo hoo. progress

Wednesday clean the carpets day!!! I love clean the carpets day my house is so fresh smelling afterwards. We also started planing for Rae's menu for her party.

Thursday Chris had PT and was able to do 5 minutes on the bike. He is really coming along great. Funny how learning how to walk at 46. That night Rae and I went to Whitesboro to the Treasure box club kit class. You can learn more about the treasurebox club by going to Tracy's website. www.thetreasureboxclub.com If you like monthly sbing kits you will love this club. Tell her I sent you!!

Friday night we were in Sams for a good part of the night trying to get all the stuff for her party. She also decided that she wanted a cake. Yummmy good.

Saturday morning at Sam's at 7:30 to get the cake and then a mad dash to Krogers for punch supplies. Woo hoo what a morning. I was so glad to go to work so that I could slow down a bit. Tonight we finished up the party stuff and took lots of pictures. I'll post them later when I get them uploaded on the computer. I hope you all have a great day. and I'll type to you all next week.

Hi Ya'll

Well this week has been interesting to say the least. We are progressing well with the physical therapy and such.

Sunday was Father's day and Chris loved his gifts. He tried to get dressed for church but we only made it as far as lunch before he was exhausted and ready for bed again. Oh well maybe next week.

Monday night Rae, Heather and I were "dancing" to the instructions of our favorite 3 year old who insisted that we needed to sing her a song before she would go in for the night. Well her mother and I started with twinkle twinkle and Mary had a little lamb. However that is not was she wanted to hear she wanted a ballerina song, so I run into the house and get Rae.
"you have to sing a ballerina song"
"I don't know a ballerina song"
"Make one up, Hannah is not going into the house until she hears one"
"Okay"

So we run next door and there is a very determined 3 year old and her very tired Mom (Dad had surgery earlier in the day) Rae made up about two lines and that was all she needed. She danced to the song Rae pulled out of thin air and that was good for her.

Tuesday - Rae and I are on the way to Remember When to drop off one of her samples for her class when I told her she needed to finish the song she started last night and give it to Hannah as a birthday present. An original Rae Carsten Song. Wow just imagine what it will be worth in a couple of years. LOL. We picked up stuff to Alter the CD cover and Rae hopped on Garage band and finished "Hannah's Ballerina Song" It really turned out cute and I was excited for her to give it to our little friend who was more excited about the altered CD cover than the CD. Oh well

Wednesday was Chris's first Outpatient Physical Therapy in McKinney. On the way home, the top radiator hose blew and we were stuck just past Exit 46 in Melissa. We tried to call a couple of people and then we finally decided to call our neighbors. They in turn called Heather's dad, James, who drove all the way to Melissa to re attach the hose, new clamp and put antifreeze in the truck. He then instructed us to go straight to the Ford house and have them flush the radiator system because he had to put orange in with green. I didn't know that anti freeze came in colors. New one on me. He wouldn't take any money for any of the gas or supplies that he used. Amazing. Will have to think of something special to do for him.

Thursday - Chris kicked me and Rae out of the house for a bit. Apparently we were hovering and getting on his nerves. LOL. We made sure Caedee could handle her dad and then went to lunch at Olive Garden and spent time at hobby lobby and then ran over to happy hour at Sonic. Ummm Cherry Limeades.

Friday - Another trip to the Mckinney for Pt and stop at Michaels for an album for Caedee's Senior year!! Yikes. Wow her Senior year. I am amazed.

Tomorrow is cleaning day and Sunday hopefully we will make it to church. Monday is my first day back at my work. I am not looking forward to that because well I am still a little unsure what is going to be waiting for me. I feel confirmation that I am suppose to stay there until God is ready for me to move on. That much peace I have. I am just unsure what direction I am suppose to take after that.

I hope you all have a great week and I'll type to you later.

Phriday

I am up and about and I think that Fridays may be my posting days.
Funny thing happened tonight while I was catching up with some of the other bloggers when I hit upon one who had blocked all viewers except invited ones.
Wow don't know if I should email her and ask for permission to join or just view it as a closed door.
Then I thought what a great idea! make it a private blog. After all the trouble Angie and Rae had I thought it was a good idea. So I am going to leave it open for a little while and then close it to invited persons only. If you check it and it is invites only email me and I'll put you on the special persons list.

Update and happenings

Please forgive me for not updating sooner. We have had so much going on here that it is like being in the middle of a whirling dervish. Ok updates:

Catherine - Passed her Taks test. She is free to go on and enjoy her senior year without that looming over her head. Woo Hoo. Her best friend Emily graduated from High School and things will not be the same without the dynamic duo running the low brass. She made section leader and is already after her kids to make sure they are in shape for summer band. Speaking of summer band she currently is at band camp where she made Honors Band and the Trombone Choir. This seems to be her year.

Rachel - Has graduated from East Texas Baptist University and is moving to Florida. She is thinking she can substitute teach until she gets her music studio up and running. Of course she is going to help at the nursery and get my Mom around to all the shopping that she has been wanting to do and no one is willing to take her to do. She is all excited about the move and believe it or not her dad and I have a peace about it. Thank goodness for Cell phones so I can call and text her - a lot!! LOL

Chris - is currently on leave from TI as he heals from a modified hip replacement procedure called the Birmingham resurfacing procedure. It leaves with more of your own bone. Yesterday we had the staples taken out and Dr. Adams was going to show him off to another patient because he has done so well. 9 days out from surgery and he is already walking straighter than he did in 5 years. He also says his other hip doesn't hurt him as much either. Wow we may be able to get away with not having the other one done until next year if this really helps. It is good to see him walk again. Of course the physical therapy tires him out but his youth is to his advantage and will be able to go back to 100% activity in less than 6 weeks.

Me - well I think I will start looking for a new job. I can't share details but unless God gives me clear direction this is where He wants me I will be heading somewhere else. Other than that I am doing well and enjoying my time off with Chris.

The picture up top is from Mother's day

Sorry for the delaying in posting. I'll try to start updating on a specific day and that way I know oh its posting day. Thank you all for not giving up on me.
