Greetings and Happy Thanksgiving

Greetings to all of my dear friends out there.
Happy Turkey day and all the trimmings.
I was cooking this weekend for the spread for work and was pulling out recipes from dear ones. I pulled out Ms Mildred's Red Velvet cake recipe and Angie's Browie pie recipe and even Beck's family peanut butter cookie recipe. I found a card where Jacque had written down the recipe to Spiced tea when she was about 8 or 9. Memories of ones here and gone flooded my weekend it was like visiting with all my old friends and family. And really all I did was walk through my recipe file. Odd uh?
I know that you all have so many plans, etc.
Take time to enjoy your families.
Call someone you haven't talked to in a while.

Smell the turkey and dressing and hold everyone tighter this year.

Snapfish

Well believe it or not but for the last 3 days I have been loading Caedee's Germany pictures onto Snapfish. I couldn't believe how many pictures there were of just three weeks. However I am going to make sure I didn't accidentally double load and then order them because I can get them for only $.10 each. If anyone is interested in 20 free prints from Snap fish let me know.

Well I just need to do something fun for a bit so I will check out my friends bloggys and then hop back to loading pics. I'll post a link after I get them up and let you all see the album

We made it to the Finals

The whole show was awesome but so were some of the others. We were one of the top 10 bands in the state Nothing to sneeze at. Like Caedee said tonight there were 240 other bands who would have traded places with Sherman in a second. I have 4 rolls of film. Poor Chris he is going to be so sorry that my 35mm is up and running

Started the fireplace going tonight. Didn't want to turn on the heat if we can help it. It is suppose to be in the 80's for the Battle of the Ax. 40 one day 80 the next.

Found a recipe for preserving leaves on DIY Scrapbooking. If it good enough for Anna Griffin it is Great for me.

"To preserve a few leaves:

Mix one part of glycerin to two parts of water (about 8 oz. of glycerin with 16 oz. of water). Layer the leaves in a flat container and pour the glycerin mixture over them. Cover them tightly and allow them to sit out of the sunlight for a couple of weeks. Check on them every few days to make sure the leaves are all covered in the solution and that the solution is still well mixed. Once all the leaves have absorbed the glycerin, remove the leaves from the branches and allow them to dry out on paper towels or newspaper. Any excess glycerin will "sweat" out of the leaves. Allow to dry for about one week."

I am going to try this with Chris's Maple Tree at least a few of the leaves for him. Sounds like fun.

I have to work on trying to get the fall menu planned and start working on the table decorations. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. Rae is suppose to come home with some friends. I hope to have things ready for them by then.

Well I have got supper for tomorrow started. I need to get the laundry moved from the washer to the dry and then start another load.

Sleep well all and stay warm

Inspirations from friends

I heard from an old friend tonight and she gave me the link to another friend's blogs. Both of their blogs gave me such a peace that I was able to relax for the first time in a long time. I am so blessed to have such wonderful women friends in my life. Also learned that I need to put more pictures in my blogs.

So here goes. As Caedee gets ready for State and hopefully sleeping and resting for the next 1 hour. I am going to brag on my girl. This is picture is right after practice. She nailed it and she knows it. I know she nailed it by the grin on her face. This has been one of the harder shows because of her short stature and the long strides they are doing. But she is keeping up and doing well. The show got first place in Area two weeks ago and Rae was able to come down and see them. And speaking of Rae.....
~

Rae is doing great she is the interim Youth Director at FUMC in Hallsville. She is so busy with "her kids" that she doesn't get to come home like I would like but she is happy.

Another sleepless night

It is 3 in the morning and I am trying to go back to sleep. Things are just spinning in my head. I can't figure out why all the things are hitting at one time. This time of year is always a tough time for Chris and I, but this year with the girls globe trotting and SHS Band making it to state, I see a very slim Christmas. However, I am going to try to teach a couple more classes at RW and see if that doesn't help. I am too late for Christmas but if I can get through to the first of the year I think I'll be ok.

Caedee and I have to get up in a few hours and she is headed to San Antonio. She is so excited. I hope they place 1st this year.

Tonight I made a memory cube for Catherine of her Germany pictures. It was really cute after we finished it. She is going to take it with her to San Antonio.

Enough -- I need to get some sleep so I am going to take a hot bath and crawl into a book and see if that doesn't do the trick.

Or I could just stay up and scrapbook, ummm 2 quiet hours of
uninterrupted scrapooking.
