I do set My bow in the clouds - May 6, 2015

Good Morning dear ones:
It was a windy and wet night last night here in North Texas. However, I am holding onto a promise from God, made in the very first chapter of the Bible and the hope that comes, with every rainbow that I see:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Genesis 9: 12-17 ESV
12 And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: 13 I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
Hugs to you all,
He holds the future - May 5, 2015
Good Morning Dear ones:
Well apparently we are in for a few days of severe weather. This has been one odd spring. The good news is the lakes are filling up nicely so summer fun plans can be made. However in the mean time, I worry about straight winds, hail, flooding, etc. But I don't need to be:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Philippians 4:6-7 (ESV)
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We may not know the future but we know who holds the future in His hands. He has already promised the peace that passes all understanding.
Have a safe day,
SJ
Thoughts on the Bible, May 4, 2015
Good Morning Dear ones:
Growing up on a nursery has its advantages. As kids, we could walk out our door and pick from a variety of fruits to snack on. Mangos, oranges, and starfruits, were all there for eating. All we had to do was go outside and enjoy them.
As I was enjoying a tangerine yesterday, I thought how like a piece of fruit is our Bible. In order to enjoy the fruit and obtain nourishment from it, I had to open the skin. The same idea applies to our Bibles. In order to enjoy the fruit of the Bible and obtain spiritual nourishment, we need to open it. I can tell you all day long how wonderful that fruit is going to taste but until you open it up and taste it, you cannot get enjoyment from it.
Our Bibles are the living word of God. He feeds us from His word and helps us understand Him. The sweetness of His love is realized when we crack open the cover and read it.
Matthew 4:4 (ESV)
4 But he answered, “It is written,
“‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Have a Blessed day everyone:
Spring - May 2, 2015
Good Morning dear one:
I have weeds to pull and plants to water, but I wanted to leave you with a quick word:
~~~~~~~~~~
1 John 5:14-15 (NASB)
14 This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I am asking that you all have awesome day,
SJ
Happy Birthday Mom - May 3, 2015
Happy Sonday Dear ones:
This is Mom's birthday and she is celebrating it in Korea. Happy Birthday Mom. So I am going to leave just a quick word so I can get ready for Church.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Romans 12:12 (ESV)
12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Hugs everyone,

Well Duh ~ Moment

Good Morning dear ones:
Every have one of those "of course" moments? I don't know if the coffee kicked in at the same time as I was reading, but this verse spoke to me today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hebrews 11:6 (ESV)
6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 11:6 (NASB)
6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 (MSG)
6 It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that He exists and that He cares enough to respond to those who seek him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness
and all these things shall be added unto you.
Have a blessed day everyone,
SJ
P.S. apologies to those who get that hymn stuck in their head today, tee hee
