Thanksgiving 2019

Reflecting on the past 2 years - I know I have a blog but I always seem to forget to take the time to come over here and fill it in. Well this past year has been one of hurt and pain but also joy and excitement.  Let's see if I can get you up to speed with my life.

January 2019  Caedee turned 28! How did that happen!

February 2019 - at work, I got a new Manager which was my old supervisor. Chris and I saw our 37th wedding anniversary

March 13, 2019 - Rae had 7 strokes at one time. The Neurologist said it was like a meteor shower in her brain. On the 16th my dear friend Kendra lost her battle with ALS.

April 25th 2019 - our dear friend Kenney went home to be with the Lord.

May 4, 2019 - Our Amelia had her first birthday, Our friend Manny married his best friend and Rae had open heart surgery

June 2019 - More back and forth to Dallas with work and to Tyler. God is so good and we saw healing in Rae.

July - August were hot months with crazy going on with work. We moved Caedee into a new apartment which I thought was adorable. We also started our home group for Bible Studies. Tuesdays will never be the same again. Full of friends, food,
and Laughter. Thank you God for this house and the purpose you have for it.

September - A break in the heat but we notice Charlie starting to slow down more.

October - We received notice from the powers that be in Austin, that they were closing our office and moving us across town

November - Saw my house full of love with all my kids under one roof.

Hope for December as our new Church moves forward into the new campus.

Well that is it in a nut shell  They year went just that fast as well.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving everyone and I love you all!

Happy New Year!

I remembered I had a blog!! Surprise that it still exists and that I remembered how to log on. Things have changed some much in the last couple of years.

2014 my husband surprised me with a new car! I had over 200K miles on the Lexus and I needed something more dependable. In December of that year we lost our beloved Owanna

In 2015 My job in Sherman was RIF and I was transferred  to Dallas. I have been driving back and forth.

In 2016 I had emergency surgery, lost a dear friend to a heart attack  and I was the 3rd car in a 4 car pile up. It totaled my only 2 year old car and God provided me with my current car a 2016 Buick Verano.

2017 - we lost more dear ones and I was still driving back and forth to Dallas.

2018 - Started with my family together on New Years and ice everyone including Florida.

I'll try and do better about posting.

Hugs,

SJ

Seeking Wisdom

Good Morning Dear Ones:

I remember as a young mother asking my parents thousands of questions regarding the girls. I was so unsure what to do. There were several times I would call Daddy with one of the girls screaming in the background asking "what do I do?". I specifically remember once Daddy saying . . . "Well first you both need to calm down. . ."
~~~~~~~~~~~~
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
James 1:5 NASB
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not once in all the times that I called my parents did they state to me "You know this", or "you should know better". If I was seeking wisdom then there was a reason and that was good enough for them.

Hugs everyone,

SJ

more Coyotes ~ July 28, 2015

Good Morning Dear Ones:
This morning I wanted to share a quick word. As we were walking this morning, the coyotes were singing in the field near the subdivision. I wanted to turn around and go back home. But Chris and Charlie kept walking so I did as well. We kept on going even though my imagination was running wild with thoughts of them attacking us. We just kept our eyes forward and we finished our walk!
~~~~~
Philippians 3:14 (ESV)
14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
~~~~~~
We need to keep our eyes on God and hang on to the promises of finishing the race. It is scary out there. It is not a nice world but if we press on and proceed with faith, all things are possible for those who love the Lord.
Hugs,
SJ

Quick Word - July 26, 2015

Good Morning Dear ones:
Just a quick word before we get ready for church:
~~~~~~~~~
Hebrews 11:11 (ESV)
11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
John 20:29 (ESV)
29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Matthew 25:21(ESV)
21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’
Have a blessed day,
Who do you say I am? - July 22, 2015
Good Morning Dear Ones:
This morning we are praising God for Tristan's successful surgery. Thank you God for Your hand with all involved with the baby's recovery.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 16:15-16 (ESV)
15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This question that our Lord asked of His disciples, can be asked of us today. Who do we say Jesus is? Are we living our lives like Christ is in us? Are we reflecting the Son of the living God? We need to be bold and proclaim that "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Try to say cool out there today - temps near 100 again.
Roller Coaster Ride - 7/21/15
Good Morning Dear Ones:
Please lift up Brenda's Grandson Tristan today as he is undergoing surgery.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 119:30 (ESV)
30 I have chosen the way of faithfulness;
I set your rules before me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you ever thought of your Christian walk like a roller coaster ride?
You chose to get onto the ride.
It can be dangerous
It has lots of highs and lows.
Sometimes all you can do is hang on and trust Jesus.
This maybe a little tongue in cheek but food for thought. Have a blessed day.
Hugs,
SJ
